Almost anything and everything can happen with the touch of a finger. Newspapers
have gone digital and slowly, more and more jobs are taken over by robots. Times
have changed and technology has advanced, almost becoming one with the human
self.
Convenience, efficiency and accuracy, the advantages of going digital outweigh the
disadvantages. Taking the step from the traditional ways of handling a business,
digitalization gives a company or organisation a clear advantage when compared to
others. Things get done better, faster and cheaper than those who don’t.
Going digital saves lots of money and can reach more people at a time. With social
media platforms and its ever-increasing number of functions, going digital allows a
business to interact with its customers more effectively. Through the ideal
engagement with consumers, digitalization also helps businesses convert their
followers into buying their products. Going digital truly is a win-win situation.
With more and more businesses looking into going digital, understanding consumer
needs and methods to strategically cater to them are no longer a hassle.
Digitalisation allows for businesses to keep up to date in this rapidly changing
business landscape.
Aiming to demystify the buzzwords surrounding digitalization, SICC’s Digitalization
Interest Group provides members with information that assists them in maximising
gains from going digital.
“It has helped me widen my network, not only through meeting the other members of
the group but also guest presenters,” said Adrian Guttridge, CEO of FutureRidge Pte
Ltd, member of SICC’s Digitalisation Interest Group.
Relevant topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and social media marketing are
discussed during meetings to keep members updated on the latest trends and
changes in the sector. Through experienced industry players, members get to learn
new and applicable tactics that can be applied to their own. These skills and
initiatives shared not only benefit the members but also the wider business
community.
Change is inevitable and there is always a certain relief that comes out from
accepting it. Together with SICC, we can all work towards a savvy and smart nation.
